The sintering and electrical properties of the ceramic dielectric mate
rial, (Pb0.65Ba0.35)(Zr0.7Ti0.3)O3-Ba(Cu1/2W1/2)O3 have been studied.
A small amount of Ba(Cu1/2W1/2)O3 drastically decreases the sintering
temperature and increases the electrical resistivity of the ceramic. T
he dielectric material fired at 1,050-1,080-degrees-C, had a fired gra
in size of about 3 mum, a dielectric constant of 4,000-4,500, and a ca
pacitance resistivity product of 10,000 OMEGA . F at room temperature
and 8,000 OMEGA . F at 125-degrees-C. A multilayer ceramic capacitor m
ade with such a ceramic dielectric and with 70Ag/30Pd internal electro
des satisfied the Y5P (DELTAC<+/-10%, -30+85-degrees-C) specifications
of the EIA (Electronic Industries Association) Standards.
