Abstract
An orthopedic instrument, the Shutt Suture Punch System, has allowed r apid (less than 1 minute) and safe introduction of the suspending sutu re through the sacrospinous ligament, especially in the morbidly obese patient. Residents-in-training have performed the sacrospinous vagina l suspension on 30 patients without complications. The remaining aspec ts of the operation are unchanged.
