Abstract
We show that if a scalar field similar to the one mediating inflation is effective even now, then the Robertson-Walker model may have some i nteresting properties under certain conditions. In this case even a sp atially closed universe may expand forever. A dust universe has always q = 1/2 for all values of spatial curvature. The critical density is also less than in the standard Robertson-Walker model.
