Abstract
The correlation between chloride concentration and 08X18H10T steel lif etime to corrosion cracking at temperatures from 323 to 383 K was dete rmined. The maximum allowable concentration of water-soluble chlorides in the external heat insulation that causes no corrosion cracking due to sporadic wetting and drying of heat surface was estimated.
