Abstract
The proton sigma(H) and hole sigma(h) conductivity in solid solutions YO1.5 + CaO (0.02-2.0 mol % CaO) is studied as a function of P-O2 and P-H2O at 1016 degrees C. It is shown that the hydrogen concentration i ncreases in proportion to the CaO content. It is suggested that two co mpetitive mechanisms of the defect formation exist, which facilitate t he hydrogen appearance and the protonic conduction in the solutions st udied.
