Da. Sveshnikova et al., ADSORPTION OF CATIONS OF ALKALINE-EARTH METALS ON COMPACT CARBON MATERIALS, Russian journal of electrochemistry, 33(1), 1997, pp. 69-74
Adsorption of Sr2+ ions on compact carbon materials is studied by the
radioactive tracer method. The dependences of adsorption of these cati
ons on the pH of solution, electrode potential, and adsorption time ar
e found. The effects of alkaline-earth metal cations on cathodic and a
nodic processes on carbon samples at various heat treatment temperatur
es are studied by the potentiodynamic method. It is found that ions of
alkaline-earth metals, which are adsorbed on the electrodes, inhibit
the anodic and cathodic processes.
