The static and dynamic analysis of eccentrically stiffened laminated p
lates is presented. For large deformations, the von Karman kinematic r
elations of the plate and stiffener are considered in the formulation.
Also, the formulation accounts for transverse shear deformation effec
ts of the plate and stiffener, and the model is applicable for the ana
lysis of both thin and thick stiffened laminated plates, The finite el
ement model consists of representing the plate by nine-noded isoparame
tric quadrilateral elements and the stiffener by three-noded isoparame
tric beam elements. Numerical examples are presented for the non-linea
r responses of stiffened laminated plates. The influences of stiffener
