Aim: To assess the relationship between Helicobacter pylori infection
and functional dyspepsia. Method: Review of published data. Results: T
here have been many studies on the effect of H. pylori suppression on
symptoms, but results have been conflicting and the studies have a num
ber of limitations. Conclusion: The data available do not allow firm c
onclusions about the effects of H. pylori eradication on symptoms of f
unctional dyspepsia nor on the relationship between H. pylori infectio
n and the symptoms.
