Abstract
New technical advances have made feasible the utilization of laser to destroy deep-seated brain tumors under real-time monitoring. Experienc e with interstitial laser thermotherapy (ILTT) in animal and clinical studies has been obtained. These studies are summarized and the future potential of ILTT in neurosurgery is discussed.
