Abstract
This paper presents a review of multiaperture-synthesis telescope (MST ) systems with a large field of view, developed abroad as an alternati ve to single telescopes with diameters of approximately 10 m and large r. Primary attention is directed at analyzing the requirements on spac e-based (MST) systems in order to obtain diffraction-limited image qua lity and on the technical designs of the automated adjustment and phas ing systems.
