This paper considers the results of work on semiconductor thermoelectr
ic detectors, obtained in our country in the last 10-15 years. Informa
tion is given on the characteristics of rod-shaped and thin-film therm
al radiation detectors for spectrometry, actinometry and radiometry (o
r heat-flow measurement). Thermoelectric semiconductor devices are con
sidered for laser- engineering position- and coordinate-sensitive radi
ation detectors, as well as methods for equalizing their sensitivity o
ver the spectrum and over the area when the radiation characteristics
of lasers are measured. The characteristics of a thermoelectric radiat
ion detector and an absolute thermoelectric detector are given.
