We present an analysis of the optical and far-infrared properties of a
homogeneous sample of blue dwarf galaxies. The luminosity of the gala
xies is parametrized in terms of their metallicity, size, and velocity
dispersion. The environment of the galaxies is also searched for comp
anions, finding that a large fraction of the sampled galaxies are trul
y isolated. The kinematics of the ionized gas is also discussed, as we
ll as the history of the star-formation rate.
