The biotransformation by the fungus Gibberella fujikuroi of the diterp
ene ent-14alpha,19-dihydroxy-kaur-15-ene gave ent-14alpha,15beta,19-tr
ihydroxy-kaur-16-ene, 5beta,19-trihydroxy-11alpha,16alpha-epoxy-kauran
e, 16beta-epoxy-7alpha-14alpha,19-trihydroxy-kaurene, ent-7alpha,14alp
ha,19-trihydroxy-kaur-15-ene, 4alpha-dihydroxy-15beta,16beta-epoxy-kau
ran-19-oic acid, ent-7alpha,14alpha-dihydroxy-kaur-15-en-19-oic acid,
6alpha,7alpha,14alpha-trihydroxy-kaur-15-en-19-oic acid, lpha,14alpha,
15beta-tetrahydroxy-kaur-16-en-19-oic acid and oxy-6alpha,7alpha,14alp
ha-trihydroxy-kauran-19-oic acid. The 14beta-hydroxy-15alpha,16alpha-e
poxy-GA15 was the sole gibberellin obtained in this incubation.
