The paper describes the performance of a an isolated self-excited sing
le phase induction generator when the excitation capacitor is connecte
d to one winding and the load is connected to the other. Depending upo
n equivalent circuit, nonlinear simultaneous equations, in the magneti
sation reactance and operation frequency, have been used for computer
simulation of the two cases. Newton Rhapson numerical method have been
found suitable for the solution of the equations. Computer results ha
ve been supported by laboratory tests. The model have been used to stu
dy the effect, of machine parameters on the general performance of the
machine.
