Abstract
Magnetic supports were prepared by immobilizing magnetite in partially deacetylated chitin (PDAC) with glutaraldehyde. It was found that a P DAC obtained by boiling chitin in 37.5% (w/w) sodium hydroxide was an excellent support with enclosed magnetite and that the magnetic suppor t was also suitable for immobilizing protein. Magnetic supports immobi lized with pullulanase responded quickly to a magnetic field and showe d enzyme activity.
