Abstract
Deprotonation of decamethylferrocenium tetrafluorborate (20-degrees-C, THF, (t)BuOK or iPr2NH, Et3N) proceeds via intermediate formation of nonamethylferrocenylmethyl radical and results in the products of buto xylation and amination of methyl groups.
