We have measured the infrared spectra of C60 films sublimed on gold fr
om 25 to 300 K in the frequency range 15-5000 cm-1. We observed severa
l new lines emerging below 250 K which we assign to the infrared activ
e modes of C60 in the Pa3BAR phase, based on the temperature dependenc
e of these modes around the orientational phase transition. We compare
our results with those obtained by other experimental methods and wit
h theoretical predictions.
