Ej. Bailey et al., MACRODYSTROPHIA LIPOMATOSA OF THE FOOT - A REPORT OF 3 CASES AND LITERATURE-REVIEW, Foot & ankle international, 18(2), 1997, pp. 89-93
Macrodystrophia lipomatosa is a distinct clinical entity often misdiag
nosed as other forms of macrodactyly. The most specific finding is an
overabundance of fibrofatty tissue on the plantar aspect of the foot.
Three cases, with the diagnoses made from tissue specimens, are presen
ted in this article. The clinical, pathologic, and roentgenographic fi
ndings are discussed and a review of the literature is provided.
