H. Hegyesi et al., CHLOROQUINE INHIBITS THE INSULIN BINDING AND THE IMPRINTING OF NUCLEAR-ENVELOPE IN TETRAHYMENA, Acta microbiologica Hungarica, 39(3-4), 1992, pp. 289-293
Chloroquine possessing lysosomotrop effects inhibits the development o
f insulin imprinting both on the plasma membrane and the nuclear envel
ope. Simultaneously chloroquine can inhibit the insulin binding in the
nucleus itself but not in the plasma membrane. There is a dose depend
ent increase of binding of labelled insulin to the nuclear envelope. T
he control related binding of nuclei pretreated with insulin or chloro
quine is similar and have a direct ratio, independently of the applied
concentrations.
