Abstract
A plasma generator based on a stationary contracted arc discharge with a current of 2-10 A is described. The characteristics of the device a nd the parameters of the generated plasma are presented. The generator is described operating as a stationary ion source. Under an accelerat ing voltage of 10 kV and with a beam cross-section of 200 cm2 the ion current was over 200 mA.
