Ai. Masrshakov et al., EFFECT OF THE MATERIAL OF A METALLIC CATHODE ON RELATIONSHIPS GOVERNING GAS GENERATION OF HYDROGEN IN ACID-SOLUTIONS CONTAINING H2O2, Protection of metals, 29(1), 1993, pp. 103-106
Investigations were carried out into the effect of the reduction react
ion of H2O2 on the rate of gas generation of hydrogen on the metals wi
th different degree of hydrophilic capacity of the surface. The result
s show that the addition of H2O2 to the solution accelerates cathodic
generation of hydrogen in dissociative adsorption of the H2O2 molecule
on the metal. It is proposed that this capacity is determined by the
degree of the hydrophilic capacity of the surface of the electrode and
by its potential.
