V. Cutello et J. Montero, A CHARACTERIZATION OF RATIONAL AMALGAMATION OPERATIONS, International journal of approximate reasoning, 8(4), 1993, pp. 325-344
This paper deals with amalgamation of fuzzy opinions when a fixed numb
er of individuals is faced with an unknown number of alternatives. The
aggregation rule is defined by means of intensity aggregation operati
ons that verify certain ethical conditions, and assuming fuzzy rationa
lity as defined in [1, 2]. A necessary and sufficient condition for no
n-irrationality is presented, along with comments on the importance of
the number of alternatives.
