Abstract
Gingival overgrowth is a known side effect of several seizure, immunos uppressant and calcium channel-blocker medications. Gingival overgrowt h is not a reported side-effect of phenobarbital. This case report des cribes two patients with marked gingival overgrowth who had been medic ated with phenobarbital exclusively since the initiation of seizure di sorders. The clinical findings, surgical management, bleeding complica tions, and recommendations in management are discussed.
