Abstract
Experimental confirmation of a pronounced localization of the electron gas at minima of the small-scale potential well of a GaAs-AlGaAs hete rojunction has been found. The energy scale (Delta similar or equal to 18 meV) and the length scale (200-400 Angstrom) of the fluctuations h ave been found The value of h is essentially equal to the typical Coul omb energy of the interaction of ionized donors in the n-AlGaAs layer.
