Abstract
An addition of Cr(aq)++ ions (under argon atmosphere) to HClO4 solutio ns of [Cf(C2O4)(bpy)2]+ complex causes a very fast substitution of the 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and [Cr(C2O4)(H2O4]+ cation is formed. Rate o f the reaction was followed spectro-photometrically. The second order rate constants and the activation parameters have been determined. The data are interpreted in terms of an inner-sphere electron transfer be tween the Cr(II) and Cr(III) centers via the oxalato bridge.
