Nucleation fields and hysteresis loops of rare earth-transition metal
intermetallics are calculated taking into account different magnetocry
stalline anisotropy constants of the rare earth and the transition met
al sublattices and considering the exchange coupling between the two s
ublattices. Nucleation fields and hysteresis loops are determined for
arbitrary angles between the applied field and the c-axis and for vari
ous material parameters. The case of Fe14Nd2B is discussed in some det
ail.
