The diffusion of Ni-63 in polycrystalline samples of beta-Ni3+/-yS2+/-
x has been studied by serial sectioning technique and by fotometering
of autoradiographs. The diffusion coefficient has been determined as a
function of temperature and pressure of sulphur vapor at temperatures
ranging 863 K to 943 K and sulfur pressure 10(-4) Pa - 10(-2) Pa. It
was found that the most important point defects are doubly charged vac
ancies and electron holes.
