Ag. Toma et Ew. Fisher, OSTEOMA OF THE EXTERNAL AUDITORY MEATUS PRESENTING AS AN AURAL POLYP, Journal of Laryngology and Otology, 107(10), 1993, pp. 935-936
Isolated osteomata of the external auditory canal are benign and often
symptomless lesions, and are distinct from the much commoner exostose
s. A case is reported in which an osteoma presented as a recurrent 'au
ral polyp' due to a fibroepithelial polypoid reaction in the overlying
skin. The polyp and the osteoma were excised surgically. We believe t
his to be the first reported case to present in this manner.
