The invariant differential cross sections for production of pi+/-, K+/
-, p, and pBAR in pi-p collisions are measured at five values of the p
olar angle theta(cm) with a rotating double-arm spectrometer. The rang
e of the scaling variable was 0.1 less-than-or-equal-to x(T) less-than
-or-equal-to 0.9. The cross sections are well fitted by an exponential
. The ratios of the same- and opposite-sign charged-particle productio
n are obtained as a function of theta(cm) and p(T). The results are co
mpared with calculations based on QCD and data obtained at higher ener
gies. One can see that at small theta(cm) the particle production is d
ominated by valence quarks of the beam pi meson.
