Abstract
It is shown that the quark-gluon string model gives a good description of the experimental multiplicity and rapidity distributions in collis ions of pi+ and K+ mesons with Al and Au nuclei at 250 GeV/c. The vers ion of the model with ''yo-yo'' time of hadron production is preferred . The MQ generator, which is used for calculations of spectra in hadro n-hadron interactions at very high energies in cosmic rays, describes the rapidity spectra of the secondary particles in the forward cone. A comparison is made for K+ Au collisions at 250 GeV/c and pAu collisio ns at 360 GeV/c. The experimental average transverse momentum of the p articles in meson interactions with Al and Au nuclei are higher than t he model predictions in both fragmentation regions.
