Rabbit liver NAD-kinase is shown to be a Ca2+-dependent, calmodulin-re
gulated enzyme. The sensitivities of the alpha- and beta-forms of the
enzyme to calmodulin differ. The maximal activation of the alpha-form
of the NAD-kinase was observed at a calmodulin/NAD-kinase ratio of 2,
and that of the beta-form at 4. Further increase in this parameter (up
to l0) had no effect on the activity of the alpha-form, whereas that
of the beta-form dropped to the initial (basal) level.
