Abstract
Lasing in atomic iodine pumped with incoherent, nuclear-stimulated XeB r fluorescence is reported. These experiments represent the first dem onstration of a nuclear flashlamp-pumped laser of any type. The fluore scence of XeBr under nuclear pumping is also discussed.
