A novel 6,7,3',4'-tetraoxygenated homoisoflavonoid, characterized as 6
-hydroxy-7-O-methyl-3-(3-hydroxy-4-O-methyl benzyl)chroman-4-one, has
been isolated from the ether-soluble portion of the heartwood of Ptero
carpus marsupium. This is the first report of the isolation of a homoi
