Abstract
A hexane solution containing both PCDDs and PCDFs (10 - 9000 ppb), whi ch was extracted from urban incineration fly ash, was treated with a T HF solution of sodium naphthalene, in the absence or presence of ethan ol or butter, to realize the efficient removal of organic chlorine ato ms (>99.99%). The results are discussed on the basis of laboratory-sca le destruction of those toxic compounds.
