This article reviews Mary Daly's five books published between 1968 and
1987. Mary Daly is a key contributor to the feminist view of religion
. The focus of this discussion is her intellectual trajectory that inc
ludes critique and reconstruction of both psychology and religion. As
she moves from reform to radical feminism and from Christianity to pos
tchristian feminist spirituality, Daly increasingly views both psychol
ogy and religion as aspects of oppressively patriarchal culture. Simul
taneously, her own work includes psychological insights and envisions
psychic integrity as a goal of the spiritual revolution of feminism. D
aly's work sponsors a psychology of religion and dialogue between psyc
hology and religion that opposes sexism.
