D. Steichen, RELIGION, REASON, REALITY - REINTERPRETED, REVILED, REPUDIATED (A RESPONSE TO HENKING,SUSAN ANALYSIS OF DALY,MARY THOUGHT), Journal of psychology and theology, 21(3), 1993, pp. 208-209
In contrast to Henking's (1993) evaluation of Mary Daly's books, this
response posits that Mary Daly is only a minor figure largely ignored
by the active feminist movement. Although the case Daly made in her ea
rly book is still being made by others, this is because she echoed man
y contemporary sources rather than providing original conceptualizatio
n. Eventually, she interprets everything through the view of a paranoi
d conviction that reality is out to get her. Thus Daly's works do not
contribute much beyond a cautionary lesson for other feminists.
