T. Diehl et M. Gareis, OBSERVATIONS ON THE ISOLATION OF SALMONEL LA SEROTYPES ASSOCIATED WITH ENTERIC INFECTION, Tierarztliche Umschau, 48(11), 1993, pp. 703-706
A total of 36 Salmonella serotypes associated with enteric infection w
ere isolated from 7816 samples from a wide range of animal species sin
ce 1992. This represents an increase in the isolation rate compared wi
th 1990 and 1991. The serotypes isolated were S. enteritidis, S. typhi
murium, S. saint-paul, S. ohio, S. virchow, S. panama, and S. takoradi
. Salmonellae were isolated not only from faeces and the gastrointesti
nal tract, but also from cases of rhinitis and cystitis and one absces
s. The use of RAMBACH-agar has been a great advantage resulting in a m
ore rapid isolation procedure.
