Abstract
Progressive multifocal leucoencephalopathy (PML) is a progressive, usu ally fatal, demyelinating disease of the CNS that is associated with i nfection of oligodendrocytes by the papovavirus JC. The incidence of P ML is rising as a consequence of the AIDS epidemic.
