Abstract
A laparoscopic radical nephrectomy with an attendant lymphadenectomy w as performed on two patients with stage 1 renal cell carcinoma. Using a laparoscopic procedure through five trocar ports, kidneys bearing ea rly stage renal cell carcinoma could be freed in the abdominal cavity, just as in open surgery. Many patients with early stage renal cell ca rcinoma, usually found incidentally, could benefit from this less inva sive procedure.
