Abstract
A video-assisted thoracoscopic technique for enucleation of a leiomyom a of the distal oesophagus, through the left side of the chest in a yo ung man, is described. The advantages of the technique described are i ts simplicity, the ease of mobilization of the distal oesophagus throu gh a left-sided approach and the minimal post-operative morbidity asso ciated with the procedure.
