Abstract
Research has suggested that aspects of transference interpretation are related to the outcome of short-term individual psychotherapy. Also i nfluential are patient characteristics and the therapeutic alliance. P revious studies are reviewed and new evidence from a recently complete d project is provided concerning the combined impact of these variable s on outcome.
