A transference interpretation varies with the therapist's understandin g of the phenomenon of transference The concept of transference as a ' 'total situation'' is particularly suitable to the complexity of the a nalytic group situation., It emphasizes the multiplicity of the object -relational aspects of transference, and the constant fluctuation of r egression.
