V. Boyrivent et al., ROLE OF NASOLACRIMAL INTUBATION IN THE TR EATMENT OF CONGENITAL LACRIMAL DUCT OBSTRUCTION IN INFANTS, Journal francais d'ophtalmologie, 16(10), 1993, pp. 532-537
We report a study of a series of 83 cases of congenital nasolacrimal d
uct obstruction treated with monocanaliculonasal or bicanaliculonasal
silicone intubation. Efficacy, complications, as well as the duration
of the placement of the probes were studied. The analysis of the vario
us factors of this series (age of the infants at the time of intubatio
n, duration and type of intubation, complications) demonstrated the su
periority of short-term monocanaliculonasal intubation (about four wee
ks) compared to longer intubation.
