Abstract
By the condensation-telemerization method through the interaction of 1 ,7-bis(hydroxymethyl)metacarborane, a polybasic acid (or its anhydride ), and acrylic acid in a mole ratio 1:(0.125-0.5):(1.8-1.2), oligoeste rcarborane acrylates have been synthesized with yields 80.2-98.0% of t he theoretical. Gel permeation chromatography and PMR spectroscopy hav e been used to investigate the composition and structure of the oligom ers.
