An equilibrium dehydration process leading to a dry salt product was s
tudied in the 90-140 degrees C range. The method of dynamic chromatogr
aphy was used for recording the concentration and amount of the releas
ed water. The temperature dependence of the P-H2O in the dehydration p
rocess is characterized by two straight lines intersecting at 110 degr
ees C. This is in agreement with the kinetic data, which indicate the
existence of two macrostates in the monohydrate decomposition process.
The heat of the reaction was determined for each state.
