Gj. Kim et al., STRUCTURE MODIFICATION OF MORDENITE THROUGH ISOMORPHOUS TI SUBSTITUTION - CHARACTERIZATION AND CATALYTIC PROPERTIES, Catalysis letters, 22(3), 1993, pp. 259-270
The introduction of Ti atoms by means of TiCl4 treatment and hydrother
mal synthesis has been applied to mordenite zeolite with different str
uctures from silicalite. The incorporation of Ti into the mordenite fr
amework is demonstrated by XRD, FTIR, Si-29 MAS NMR techniques, and te
sted with catalytic oxidation reactions. Ti-Al-mordenite catalyses the
oxidation of n-hexane, cyclohexane and benzene with hydrogen peroxide
under very mild conditions. These reactions can be performed in metha
nol, acetonitrile and water as solvents. The rate of the reaction is s
trongly affected by the kind of solvent.
