E. Noel et al., OPTICAL IMPLEMENTATION OF A REGULARIZED GERCHBERG ITERATIVE ALGORITHMFOR SUPERRESOLUTION, Optical engineering, 32(11), 1993, pp. 2866-2871
A regularized coherent optical processor, exhibiting considerable immu
nity to phase noise, is designed and used to achieve resolution beyond
the diffraction limit. Regularization is achieved by means of a piezo
electric displacement of one of the feedback mirrors. The optical proc
essor is used for real-time object restoration from noisy, diffraction
-limited images. A software implementation of the regularized algorith
m, for the case of a two-slit object, shows good agreement with the re
sults obtained from the optical processor.
