IONIC-CONDUCTIVITY OF KBR-KI MIXED-CRYSTALS

Ionic conductivity studies have been made on the mixed KBr - KI single crystals in the temperature region 150-degrees - 650-degrees-C. The l og sigma versus 1/T plots indicate four different regions. The activat ion energies associated with different regions have been calculated an d its variation with the composition of the mixed crystals is reported . The results obtained are correlated with the theoretical values calc ulated using LIDIARD theory. An attempt is made to understand the resu lts.
