Abstract
As dental materials are readily shaped to any form, they may be utilis ed as radiological phantoms for some human organs. CT values of 29 den tal materials were measured. Of them 13 materials could not be measure d because their values exceeded 3000 HU. The values of the other 16 ra nged between -100 to 1500 HU, and were equivalent to those of various tissues ranging from fat to cortical bone. CT phantoms were also prepa red with the CT value equivalent to those of some soft tissues in the maxillofacial region. The phantoms were made of a mixture of Utility w ax and Lipiodol Ultra-fluide. They had a uniform density (standard dev iation within 8 HU), and they provided various CT values ranging from -100 to 150 HU.
