Abstract
An optimisation procedure which uses the mean absorbed dose to glandul ar tissue in the breast to assess the imaging system sensitivity is pr esented. With computer connection to the X ray unit, the dose is autom atically calculated for every exposure. A software program which analy ses periods with deviation from normal sensitivity is described.
